What should I put in my profile? How do I change my public username?
Experts start out with a site profile, which is how you are identified in the Expert community. This is the username you use to log in, and also to post in the Expert forum.
You also have the option to build mini-profiles that you can customize for each category.
Your mini-profile should be an accurate reflection of your expertise in that category. Think of it as your cover letter, resume and personal brand all in one. With it, you’re enticing potential customers to build a relationship with you. Each mini-profile sets you apart as a valuable resource; the key is to focus on your strengths, years of experience, and adding a personal touch.
IMPORTANT: Do not include any personal or identifying information, such as office phone numbers, personal email addresses, or anything of that nature.
Filling Out Your Mini-Profiles
Your View Name: Something relevant and professional in your category.
Your Title: Use the dropdown to choose your title, or enter one of your choosing.
Qualifications: Think of this as your elevator pitch. A great example for a doctor might be, "With 15 years of experience and compassion, I treat my patients like family."
Radio Buttons (subject to availability; if greyed out or unclickable, this option is not available at this time):
JustAnswer Chat - Allows you to engage with the customer in a chat setting
JustAnswer Remote Desktop - Allows you to remotely access a customer's computer
Value Added Service - Three different features which you can learn more about here on the Experts' Blog.
Allow customers to request me personally in this category - Helps when building a repeat customer base.
Greeting Text: This greeting of 150 characters or less will be displayed at the top of each first reply you make in a Q&A chain and is category-specific. Feel free to create greetings for your other categories too. Example: "Hi, I'm Joe. Thanks for asking your question - I'm happy to help." Make sure to turn the radio button to "On" if you want your greeting displayed.
Favorite Testimonial: Once you have some customer feedback, use this space to display your favorite.

In this field, you’ll need to enter a profile name that customers will see, for example ‘dr-smith’. This name will be used in the URL for your new profile page (i.e. www.justanswer.com/medical/expert-dr-smith/). Once you update your profile, the URL will change and the old URL will not work, so please update any links you have anywhere that lead to your profile.
Please note that your public profile name should contain only alphanumeric characters and dashes, and must be between 4 and 20 characters long with no spaces or underscores.
Also, if you haven’t already please upload a photo of yourself that is 500×500 pixels large. Customers love to see who they’re working with, and the expert profile page is a great way for them to meet you. You can add a photo here.
