Expert-to-Expert Interactions
During your time on JustAnswer, you will likely interact with some of your fellow Experts.
As a rule, your fellow Experts will usually be more than happy to help you along as you figure out how to most effectively use JustAnswer’s platform. If you notice that one Expert or another does impressive work, you’re invited to send them a private message, asking for tips or advice. Just click on their name to get to their profile, click the “PM” button at the top-right, and fill in your message on the next screen.
As a result of being a large site with many users, official and unofficial policies regarding Expert interactions and behavior have arisen. Most are relatively “common sense” but we want to reproduce them here for maximum clarity on everyone’s part.
-
Overposting is posting an Answer that is not significantly different from the Answer that another Expert has already given in any Q&A thread.
- There are many different types of Experts on JustAnswer. Some use JA as a full-time job, often because they’re disabled or otherwise unable to work a “normal” job. Others use it as a part-time job to supplement their income. Still others use JA for pocket-money and could take or leave it. Be mindful of the fact that no two experts are the same.
- JustAnswer has a "peer review" feedback system that’s detailed in another FAQ. The Expert feedback and peer reporting systems have rules and are fairly self-explanatory. You will, at some point during your tenure at JustAnswer, receive negative feedback. It’s likely you’ll also give negative feedback to an Expert who doesn’t take criticism well. It happens to all Experts, and we hope you interpret it as a tool for growth instead of a personal attack.
- Many Experts get frustrated when their fellow Experts click “Answer” instead of “Need Info” because it is (a) against site rules and (b) seems like Experts are “fishing” for the Customer to click “accept,” which puts a bad foot forward and reduces repeat customers. If your response is not a substantive answer, always use “Need Info.”
- If you need help as soon as possible, try sending a private message to the category’s Expert Mentor. A list can be found here.
